Belt "Mara's crosses"

Māra, called the Beloved Māra or Saint Māra, is the supreme mother deity in Latvian mythology. Just as God is the Father of the World, so Māra is the Mother of the World. Human souls are originally with God, and Mary takes care of giving the soul a physical covering. Therefore, the child was perceived as a gift from Mara, whom Mara helps to come into the world during childbirth. The human body is given, maintained and taken again by Mary, because the whole tangible world is under her care.
